Bay Area listeners “Hidden World of Girls” stories.
We were on KQED Forum with Scott Shaffer talking about The Hidden World of Girls, playing excerpts from upcoming stories and taking calls from Bay Area listeners. You can catch it online at KQED. Listeners called in with their Hidden World of Girl stories — the life long influence of the Girl Scout experience, a Filipino grandmother’s life story from her granddaughter, a volunteer based bedtime reading program for kids in Juvenile Hall started by a middle class woman in Contra Costa County in 1991, and one of the first women firefighter in Santa Rosa. Those are just a few of the intriguing stories we heard. Tell us yours. Call the NPR Message Line – 202-408-9576.
