“One that I vividly remember: Ever since I was born up until the age of eight, my parents use to own a donut shop/breakfast and lunch restaurant called George’s Koffee Kup. Up in the front of the donut section cashier there was a metal cabinet that I could fit under. I put a red milk crate in there along with a toy camping light and I would play in the cabinet during parts of the day creating my own little world within a donut shop. In the dim light of the cabinet I could be a teacher, an adult living in my own house, out camping in a tent. Anywhere other than in in the boredom of the restaurant that I had to be in for most of my childhood” – May 24 at 10:32am via Facebook

The above is an entry that I had posted to the Hidden World of Girls Facebook page. It is just one of many from followers of this series who come from all different regions. We’ve been posing questions on our series’ Facebook page for the past few weeks and it has been exciting to see all the responses that have and continue to come in. In reading through the comments, we’ve learned about your personal stories ranging from the hidden world of childhood hiding places to descriptions of bedrooms from when listeners and viewers were 10 and 16 years old. Thank you to all who have shared a glimpse of their lives with us and please do continue to tell us more.

We’ll leave you here with comments that have brought us into the memories of a time when we all had a special place or person to turn to. Check out the Hidden World of Girls Facebook page for even more stories.
