We are in South Dakota for the Yankton Sioux tribe’s coming of age ritual for girls, the Isnati Awicadowanpi. We heard about the event from Brook Spotted Eagle who called our NPR phone line about the Brave Heart Women’s Society who are reviving traditional ceremonies on their reservation.
