Oral History and Beyond
Nikki Silva of the Kitchen Sisters will be teaching an oral history class exploring the dramatic social and cultural shifts that took place from 1965-75 at UCSC (during it’s first 10 years) and throughout the Santa Cruz region. Students will dig deep into the history of the times, conduct an oral history interview and create a related project. The course combines fieldwork, readings, writing and multimedia assignments, guest speakers, in-class discussions and production.
